Status of country caps
Your driving examiner will discuss the results of your test at the testing centre at the end of your test. The length of the test will depend on the licence code you are applying for. Saturday tests are available to help reduce driving test wait times in areas of high demand.

A country cap status may be ‘open’, ‘paused’ or ‘closed’ during a program year. Where there are no unseen practice materials available candidates will have the option of a full refund or taking a previously seen practice test again. To pass the CCL practice test, you must achieve a score of 63 or more, and at least 29 marks in each dialogue. You have the option of paying to take a practice test which will be assessed by NAATI examiners.
Applying for a review of test results
A test review means that a separate examiner will mark your test again, and the marks from all examiners will be taken into consideration to determine your final result. You will receive either a pass (63 or over, including more than 29 marks per dialogue) or fail (below 63, or less than 29 marks in one or both dialogues). Each error will result in a different number of marks being taken off, depending on how much it impacts on the overall communication. NAATI uses an online proctoring program called ProctorExam to make sure all tests are valid and are sat by the correct person.

- Closed – Applications are closed and will reopen at the start of the new program year on 1 July.
- If you are over 25 you don’t need to complete a learner logbook before booking your test.
- You can book to resit your practical driving test before the cooling-off period has ended.
- Take the online test as many times as you need for the one test fee.
- If you hold a car learner licence, you must pass the car hazard perception test before you can book your practical driving test.

You are eligible for a refund of 75% of your test fee if you cancel your test at least 1 hour prior to the scheduled start time. Reschedule your test booking
To select a test date, you will need to log in to your myNAATI account again. You will be invited (via email from ) to select a test date once your application is approved. You will receive an email once your application is processed (generally within a week). To apply for the CCL test, you will need to create an account in our customer portal, myNAATI, and submit your application from there. NAATI is not able to amend the expiry date of a credential that has already been issued.

If you need to reschedule (change) your booking, you’ll need to do it at least 2 days before your test to avoid losing your booking fee. If you are eligible for a test review, you can apply for this from your myNAATI account within 30 days of receiving your results. This may mean people sitting the test on the same day receive their results on different days. Note that test dates are shown live, which means they may have already been booked by other candidates by the time you go to book through myNAATI.
If you fail the test and receive a result that is 58 or higher you can apply for a review of your results. Offer must be redeemed within 14 days of the date on the redemption email to receive Device. These tests cost the same as a weekday driving test and can be booked, changed or cancelled in the same way as weekday tests.
